Lia (Lakshmi) discovered her love of yoga as a young teen when she took Sivananda classes in Ottawa. While living in Jasper, Alberta she rediscovered the joy of yoga and it soon became apparent that yoga was to become an integral part of her life. She studied Asana (the physical aspect of yoga) training with Wade Imre Morissette of Vancouver and Catherine Morisset of Ottawa. Her meditation practice began with The Art of Living, taking Advanced Courses with founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and his top disciples. Lia reconnected with her Sivananda beginnings when she moved to Kanata in 2002. She is a graduate of the International Sivananda Teachers Training Course and continues her studies with her Acharya (spiritual teacher) Swami Sitaramananda. Lia is dedicated to sharing her knowledge and understanding of yoga, teaching with awareness, integrity and understanding.
Kim (Sarupa) received her yoga teacher certification under the tutelage of Yogi Vishvketu and Chetana Panwar, following what she describes as an incredible and life-altering yogic immersion in Rishikesh, India. Her approach to teaching Hatha yoga aims to be what is described by the World Conscious Yoga Family as Akhanda Yogaone that is holistic or unbroken, respecting the unity of mind, body and spirit. Kim brings a compassionate approach to her practice and a sincere desire to help others help themselves through yoga.
